Tae Kwon Do is the Korean art of self-defence and means "The Art of Hand and Foot Fighting". Tae Kwon Do indicates the technique of unarmed combat for self-defence, involving skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks, dodges and restraints. Most of all Tae Kwon Do is about self-imposed discipline, fitness and inner peace. Its origins go back 3,000 years. This provides its practitioners with a link to a tradition and philosophy, which is truly historic. The art itself however has evolved with time to reflect the needs and aspirations of the modern martial artist.

I will not take children below Five years of age, but our children and parent class is designed to cater for younger children, and if children show comprehension to a teachable level then who am I to hold them back. Our instructors are trained in creating a teaching syllabus, which is specifically aimed at young children and is not just a truncated version of an adult one. As such, young children will receive the best possible tuition, which will help their fitness, motor-coordination skills and mental discipline.

First thing is first! It doesn’t matter if you are a Man, Woman or a Child; Because Tae kwon do is so versatile and flexible that it offers something to everyone.
We do cater for children, with discussions about bullying, and stranger danger, and make them aware of the "NOT TO GO" places (dark alleys etc), we keep the syllabus light and full of games, sometimes the kids don’t even realize that they are learning!
A note to all ParentsThe T.A.G.B insist that their Instructors be POLICE CHECKED and FIRST AID trained (AS STANDARD) So no matter where you take your child to train (within the T.A.G.B.) you can be assured that they are in safe hands! |

Self Defence: |
This is my personal favourite, ”At the end of the day that’s what Martial Arts is all about, defending yourself!” That’s what I thought when I took up Martial Arts. But it has been proven to me that that is only one small aspect of the Martial Arts.
